Day Wise

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel

Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Delhi – Bagdogra by air & Bagdogra – Darjeeling by surface (93 Kms./ 3 Hrs)

Breakfast at Hotel.
Transfer to airport to board flight for Bagdogra (Flight G8157 -0930 /1150 Hrs)
Lunch at Local Restaurant at Bagdogra Apt
Meet & assist at Bagdogra airport and drive to Darjeeling passing Kurseong Sonada visit Monastery and the mummy of Kalu Rinpoche after that continue to drive to Rangbull and visit manuscripts painted in 17th and School thangka – from the main road to this place one has to walk which is approx. 5-7 minute walk one way)

Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: In Darjeeling

arly Morning: Excursion to Tiger hill & on return visit Ghoom Monastery & Dali Gompa,
Return to hotel for breakfast
After Breakfast Toy Train Ride up-to Ghoom & back (Subject to operation of this train & availability of the seats),
Lunch at Hotel
Afternoon: Visit Tibetan Refugee Centre (Closed on Sunday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, (Both Closed on Thursday).

Day 04: Darjeeling – Bagdogra by road & Bagdogra – Kolkata by air

Breakfast at Hotel.
Drive to Bagdogra airport to board flight for Kolkata (Flight 6E958-1225/1330 Hrs)
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel

Lunch at local restaurant near the airport.
Then proceed to Kumartuli (Potters Colony) is a traditionally potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata, College Street Book Market, It is a second home to the intellectuals, scholars, academicians, students and book lovers of Kolkata city. Also colloquially known as ‘Boi Para’ (book-smart), & Indian Coffee House for a coffee break.

Day 05: Kolkata – Gaya by Train (Bodhgaya)

Breakfast at Hotel
Morning: Visit Flower Market, Howrah Bridge “Howrah Bridge is an excellent example of engineering techniques of the early 20th century” walk to Howrah Terminal. Dalhousie Square (Covering Raj Bhavan, St. John’s church, High Court, GPO, Town Hall, Writer’s Building and other colonial buildings).Visit Victoria Memorial, conceptualized and created by Sir William Emerson – President, British Institute of Architects in 1921, to commemorate Queen Victoria’s 1901 diamond jubilee. Currently, the memorial is a museum that houses collection from British colonial period. visit St Paul’s Cathedral, constructed in 1847 in the Indo-Gothic style, housing many paintings depicting biblical scenes and a small library of antiquarian books and Indian Museum, considered as one of the oldest and largest museums of the country, inaugurated in 1875 and exhibits the heritage and culture of India. The museum displays sculptures, fossils, paintings, and artifacts.
Transfer Railway station to board train to Gaya (Rajdhani Express 1650 /2250 Hrs)
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel.

Day 06: In Bodhgaya

Breakfast at hotel
Visit Bodhgaya: visits are temples of various traditions, teaching by Lama and possibly transmitting a Wang.

Day 07: Bodhgaya – Varanasi by road (260 Kms.+/- 6 Hrs)

Early morning meditation at Gardens
Breakfast at hotel
Drive to Varanasi. On arrival, check-in at Hotel
Afternoon: proceed to Varanasi ghat by cycle rickshaw ride. Arrive Evening walk around the Ghats of Ganges and witness Aarti procession.

Day 08: In Varanasi

Early morning boats ride on the river Ganges “to see the bathing ghats and cremation sites. Visit Viswanath temple “also known as the Golden Temple, due to its gold-plated towers. Bharat Mata temple -dedicated to the national personification of India, It has relief maps of India carved in marble. Go around the Benares Hindu University “a very green and peaceful campus. Few actually know that this University was built during the Indian freedom struggle and is known as Oxford of the East. Return to hotel for breakfast, Morning at leisure

Afternoon: visit Sarnath: the prime Buddhist center all across the world, where Gautama Buddha after achieving enlightenment in Bodhgaya, Sarnath Stupas and Buddhist temples around here built by different Asian countries are worth a visit. Archeological Museum. The main attraction at this excellent archaeological museum is the superb Ashokan pillar. Chinese Buddhist Temple is set up in Sarnath and it commemorates 12th-century majorities of Chinese Buddhist Scholar Hiuen Tsiang.

Day 09: Varanasi – Khajuraho by air

Breakfast at Hotel. Morning at leisure
Transfer to airport to board flight for Khajuraho (Flight 9W2423 -1240/1335 Hrs)
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel
Afternoon: free to explore the local villages
Evening witness of Sound & Light show at Temple
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 10: Khajuraho –Delhi by Overnight Train

Breakfast at Hotel.
Morning: visit Western & Eastern Group of temples.
Evening transfer to Railway station to board train (Sampark Kranti Exp 1820/0525 hrs next day)

Day 11: Arrive Delhi & Delhi – Indore by air& Indore – Maheshwar –Indore (90 Kms. 2 Hrs, one way)

Arrive at 0525 Hrs
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel (Room for Wash & change & breakfast)
Transfer to airport to board flight for Indore (Flight 6E798-110 /1230 Hrs)
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel. Lunch at Hotel
Afternoon: Excursion to visit Rajarajeshwara Temple in Maheshwar, which is a famous, renowned and magnificent shrine with 11 Akhanda Jyothi Deepas – the eternal flame lamps glows continuously. Also, visit Ahilya Fort.

Day 12: Indore – Omkareshwar – Burhanpur by Road (180 Kms./ 4 Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel.
Drive to Burhanpur. En-route visit Omkareshwar, situated on the banks of river Narmada. Visit Omkar Mandhata Temple and Siddhanath Temple. Lunch at local restaurant
Arrive & check in at Hotel
Afternoon: Brief visit Burhanpur, founded in the fifteenth century by a Muslim prince.

Day 13: Burhanpur – Ajanta – Aurangabad by surface (240 Kms./ 5 Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel
Drive to Aurangabad. En-route visit Buddhist caves, carved and painted Ajanta, which reveal the magnificence of the Indian art of fifth and seventh centuries the Bodhisattvas Lotus Bleu, Jataka fresco Mahajanaka and Bodhisattva Vajrapani
Lunch at local restaurant at Ajanta. Arrive & check in at Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14: Aurangabad – Ellora – Aurangabad by Road (35 Kms./1 Hr) & Aurangabad – Mumbai by air
Breakfast at Hotel
Morning: Excursion to Ellora caves, a magnificent example of medieval art primitive. Visit Buddhist caves (ancient monasteries dominated by figures of Bodhisattvas) then the Brahmin group dedicated to Shiva and the temple of Kailasa (Hindu temple extraordinary carved into the rock). Return to Aurangabad and city tour (mausoleum, Bibi Ka Maqbara).
Note, Ellora Caves closed on every Tuesday.

Afternoon transfer to airport to board flight for Mumbai (9W 7149 -1800 /1850 Hrs Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15: In Mumbai

Breakfast at Hotel.
Morning visit Elephanta caves -first visit Gateway to India -an elegant 26 mtrs stone archway, hastily erected as a symbol of welcome to Queen Mary and King George V of England on their visit to India in 1911. Here board on a ferry boat to Elephanta (The journey takes 1 hour to reach the island by sea), Across the Mumbai Harbor, lie the seventh-century rock-cut temples of Elephanta. The caves are now designated as a World Heritage Site. Elephanta consists of seven caves of which the most notable is the Mahesa-murti cave.
Lunch at local restaurant
Afternoon: Visit Prince of Wales Museum – premier art and history museums in India and Victoria Terminus, a major landmark of Mumbai city. Also visit Dhobi Ghat, Laundry quarters – only of its kind in world, Mani Bhavan – Mahatma Gandhi’s home and Museum and drive past Marine Drive – a bustling waterfront promenade

Day 16: Leave Mumbai
Transfer airport to board flight for back home.
